About me

The world has been full of wonder and mystery for me. As of right now,In my twenties, I’ve traveled across five continents and have learned from many different viewpoints from cultures across the globe.

In my year of service with AmeriCorps NCCC I realized a few things about myself. I understood my passion for working on the behalf of other people and the great works that a community can accomplish for one another. That said, working as part of a cohesive team is a deciding factor in my future career.  I was especially struck by the impression that the city of New Orleans made on me. Despite hurricanes and other disasters, the people of that town keep on moving forward. I assume the lesson there is that no matter what challenges face you, the ability to adapt outweighs what challenges life has.

At this stage in life I have completed a Master’s degree in Interactive Media. A new field of study that incorporates web design, social media strategy, production and app development. Through this I hope to explore the wonders of the world and broaden my horizon. I am a very eclectic and pursue diverse and often hair raising hobbies such as Krav Maga, white water rafting and hiking out in the wilderness. As Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock would say: “My Mind Rebels at Stagnation”.

  1. Hey, I love this. My husband and I just bought a home in Cacalchen and hope we can make a difference there. We have been to the school and hope we can get involved there with Kyle and his staff. If you are in the area again, please come to Casa Goyita and visit us. We will be there at the beginning of November! Ask anyone, everyone knows where Casa Goyita is! Rhoda Parent

    1. Hello Rhoda, I have been super busy with my job and not updated my blog in quite some time. It sounds like you made a good friend. Pastor Kyle is an amazing person and I would love to see him again. It was a real pleasure working for his school.
